What Can I Throw In A Roll-Off Container?
If you’re planning on an end of summer clean-out, getting ready to move, or to start a remodel, a roll-off container is a good option to dispose of waste. There are a variety of sizes to choose from, meaning that they can fit almost anything you need to throw away! However, there are certain materials that should not be thrown into roll-off containers. Here we’ve broken down what is safe, and what is prohibited from being put into roll-off containers.
What is safe to throw away?
Most common household items can be tossed in a roll-off container. Anything from clothes and personal items, to larger debris such as lumber, drywall, shingles, flooring, etc. Appliances such as microwaves and washers are usually accepted. Electronics including TVs, printers, and computers are also safe to throw in roll-off containers. As far as furniture goes, wooden pieces are always accepted. However, upholstered items may not be accepted in some local landfills. Most yard debris such as leaves, branches, grass, and trees are safe, with the exception of stumps. Additionally, most containers can also hold heavy materials such as asphalt and brick.
What cannot be thrown in a roll-off container?
The best way to determine if something is safe to throw in a roll container is to check the label. If they contain a poison, chemical, or hazardous warning, there should be specific instructions as to how they need to be disposed of. Some of these items can include automotive products, home and office waste, building materials, site waste, and more.
